ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT - The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the Rectory Chapel each day during regular Rectory operating hours for your private prayer and reflection. All are welcome to come and spend some special time with the Lord.

BAPTISMS - The Sacrament of Baptism should be celebrated within two months of an infant’s birth. Baptisms can be arranged for almost any Sunday. Parents should be registered here at Holy Name. Sponsors for Baptism must be at least 16 years of age. They must also be practicing Catholics who have received Communion and Conformation. If they are married, the marriage must be recognized by the Church as valid. Please call Father Francis at the Rectory for an appointment to discuss your arrangements.

WEDDINGS - If you are planning to marry in the next year, please call Father Francis to meet with him so that a date may be scheduled with the Church. All couples are required to attend the Cana Sessions as sponsored by the Archdiocese.

SICK CALLS - Contact the Rectory in an emergency. It is recommended that the Rectory be contacted whenever there is a serious illness for the Sacrament of the Sick.

REGISTRATION - You may register as a member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish at the Rectory Office.

MEMORIAL MASS CARDS - A Memorial Gift of the Eucharistic Sacrifice is an enduring gift. The Memorial Mass is celebrated each Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM for those intentions. The Mass Cards may be obtained at the Rectory.

RECTORY OFFICE HOURS - Regular Rectory business hours are: Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM to 12:45 PM, and 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM (closed for lunch 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM). Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The Rectory Office night hours are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM. If you wish to see Father, please feel free to stop. Father is available most times, but it is best to call ahead at the Rectory to see what might be a convenient time to come.

FROM TIME TO TIME... Every now and then I print requirements for the worthy reception of Communion at Mass. There is a fast for one hour from food. In addition, we cannot be conscious of any serious sin (serious matter sufficient reflection and consent). Married persons must have their marriage recognized by the Church to be valid. Cohabitating with another forfeits the right to Communion. Not fulfilling the Sunday obligation also inhibits the reception of Communion. Sacramental Confession restores the privilege of worthy reception. Please be conscious of these Church regulations.

VACATION AND SUNDAY MASS - Most vacation places at the shore or the mountains have Catholic Churches nearby. We are not excused from our Sunday obligation just because we are on vacation. Be responsible enough to find out where and when Mass is being celebrated while away from the Parish. Use this link to find out Churches and Mass Times all over the U.S. - MassTimes.org

Vocation.jpg

Pope Benedict XVI has declared this year (July 1st, 2009 - June 30th, 2010) as the YEAR OF THE PRIEST. St. John Vianney lived in the 19th Century, and was assigned as a Parish Priest in the village of Ars, near Lyons, France. A portrait of St. JOhn is now on display in the front of Church. As we celebrate the YEAR OF THE PRIEST let us pray often to this humble, spiritual man of God, for the Priests of our Archdiocese and for vocations to the Priestly Ministry.

From The Thoughts Of St. JOhn Vianney...

"If you are afraid of other people's opinion, you should not have become a Christian" - Taken from St. John's sermon on the Fear Of Other People's Opinion

PRAYER FOR PRIESTS AND PRIESTLY VOCATIONS... Heavenly Father, please grant to Your faithful servants, the grace and strength to carry out Your mission for the church each day. Keep our priests close to You, and continue to inspire men who are called to a priestly vocation to answer Your call and participate in the fullness that You have planned for them. Amen

CALL TO THE PRIESTHOOD - Have you ever considered being a priest? What an awesome life it is! Do not be afraid to HEED THE CALL of Christ. For more information, please visit our website http:///www.HeedTheCall.org  or call (610) 667-5778 for more information.
