MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA - Each Tuesday evening Mass @ 7:00 PM with the Miraculous Medal Novena devotion and the veneration of the relic of St. Catherine Labore.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT - The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the Rectory Chapel each day during regular Rectory operating hours for your private prayer and reflection. All are welcome to come and spend some special time with the Lord.

BAPTISMS - The Sacrament of Baptism should be celebrated within two months of an infant’s birth. Baptisms can be arranged for almost any Sunday. Parents should be registered here at Holy Name. Sponsors for Baptism must be at least 16 years of age. They must also be practicing Catholics who have received Communion and Conformation. If they are married, the marriage must be recognized by the Church as valid. Please call Father Francis at the Rectory for an appointment to discuss your arrangements.

WEDDINGS - If you are planning to marry in the next year, please call Father Francis to meet with him so that a date may be scheduled with the Church. All couples are required to attend the Cana Sessions as sponsored by the Archdiocese.

SICK CALLS - Contact the Rectory in an emergency. It is recommended that the Rectory be contacted whenever there is a serious illness for the Sacrament of the Sick.

REGISTRATION - You may register as a member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish at the Rectory Office.

MEMORIAL MASS CARDS - A Memorial Gift of the Eucharistic Sacrifice is an enduring gift. The Memorial Mass is celebrated each Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM for those intentions. The Mass Cards may be obtained at the Rectory.

RECTORY OFFICE HOURS - Regular Rectory business hours are: Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM to 12:45 PM, and 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM (closed for lunch 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM). Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The Rectory Office night hours are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM. If you wish to see Father, please feel free to stop. Father is available most times, but it is best to call ahead at the Rectory to see what might be a convenient time to come.

FROM TIME TO TIME... Every now and then I print requirements for the worthy reception of Communion at Mass. There is a fast for one hour from food. In addition, we cannot be conscious of any serious sin (serious matter sufficient reflection and consent). Married persons must have their marriage recognized by the Church to be valid. Cohabitating with another forfeits the right to Communion. Not fulfilling the Sunday obligation also inhibits the reception of Communion. Sacramental Confession restores the privilege of worthy reception. Please be conscious of these Church regulations.

MASS AVAILABILITY - Between Holy Name, St. Laurentius and St. Anne's, we have twelve Masses available on any given weekend. The total attendance between all sites odes not warrant that number of Masses offered. If everyone who claims to be Catholic attended Mass, the number available would be justified. Here at Holy Name we have about 900 families registered, but our Sunday Mass attendance numbers are about 300-350 per week. We don't need three weekend Masses for those numbers. We can accommodate everyone with two Masses, the Vigil and one on Sunday. I ask for your input and will include this item for discussion with the Pastoral Council at the meeting in the Fall.

CALL TO THE PRIESTHOOD - Have you ever considered being a priest? What an awesome life it is! Do not be afraid to HEED THE CALL of Christ. For more information, please visit our website www.heedthecall.org or call (610) 667-5778 for more information.

REQUEST FOR PRAYERS FOR SICK RELATIVES & FRIENDS...

Mitchell Anderson, Florence Artese, Niki Bertotto, Gerald Bryan Sr., Marian Crank, Frank Curran, Lenore Czyzewski, Christine Daynsler, Dolores DeOrio, Rose Diamond, Joanne Donahue, Daniel Feulner, Marie Firman, Allen Frazier, Patrick Gallagher, Martin Golden, Jean Guglielmo, Doris Iacovine, Alice Kadelski, Dolores Kearney, Becky Kennedy, Joseph Kilroy, Baby Emma LaSerre, John LaSerre, Pauline Laughlin, Generosa Lopez, Eleanor Malchoski, Mary Malvey, Anna Marcelis, Barbara McCarrie, Baby Aidan Owens, Bob Paradysz, Gloria Purdy, Mary Jane McGough Reim, Marie Richardson, Jasmira Rosado, Helena Sanford, Maria Santiago, David Schierer, Richard Schmid, Marie Paxton Siegfried, Brian Taylor, Guy Valentine, Mark Veight, Sr., Colleen White, and Bea Winn

And please say a prayer every day for the safe return home of our Men and Women in Uniform. May God bless and protect them, and protect and comfort their loved ones.

ACT OF CHRISTIAN CHARITY - Have you checked on your neighbors who are shut-ins... especially during this hot season? Make sure they have enough food, liquids and house ventilation. All these things are extremely important and acts of Christ's love.

VACATION AND SUNDAY MASS - Most vacation places at the shore or the mountains have Catholic Churches nearby. We are not excused from our Sunday obligation just because we are on vacation. Be responsible enough to find out where and when Mass is being celebrated while away from the Parish. Use this link to find out Churches and Mass Times all over the U.S. - MassTimes.org

ST. FRANCIS' CORNER - ENERGY SAVING TIPS...

1. Clean vegetables in a sink or pot partially filled with water rather than running it from the tap. Then reuse the water to clean dishes or irrigate household plants.

2. Rather that running the faucet until the water gets cold enough to drink, use a pitcher to chill water in the refrigerator.

SOME LITTLE THINGS TO DO EACH DAY...

W Begin your day with a prayer, for yourself, for your kids, for your neighbors, for your co-workers. Lord knows we all need them.

W Give a "Good Morning" to the bus driver and those waiting with you at the stop.

W Thank the one who holds the door for you or lets you go before them.

W Don't honk the driver ahead of you because they're too slow at the light.

W Make kindness a priority in your criticism of others.

W Clean up your language... 'nough said!

W Don't be afraid to say "I'm Sorry" for hurts you've caused.

W Spend some quality time with your kids.

W Cut down on the drink...

W Tell your spouse and kids you love them before you settle down for sleep.

W  End the day with another prayer.

Little things can make a difference in ME!
